'Visionary Journaling': I have always felt that journaling is a sure-fire way of connecting to the Universe.  After 15+ years of doing it, I still sit in awe and wonder at the creative process when I am connected.  I want to teach you how to discover that link to create pages that sing with color and imagery and teach you things about yourself and others through the process.  You will learn to work with paint, pens, crayons, collage, words, pencils & pastels to create amazing journal pages.  Details such as drawing, doodling and lettering and how to bring more light to your work will be included, as well as the art of intentional journal writing.  Your journal can change your life ... it's that simple.

About Teesha:  Teesha Moore has always had a very strong urge to follow her gut/intuition, even when it led into areas that were unfamiliar and a little scary.  Through the last 30 years she has seen how it has made her life successful, happy and rewarding beyond her wildest expectations.  She self published an art magazine for years before the world of blogs started up, in an effort to keep people inspired and keep them creative.  She has organized over 40 art retreats over the past 15 years or so, where she brought in the best teachers in the world of mixed media to help students along on their creative paths.  A popular teacher herself, she tries to squeeze in workshops when she can due to the many requests she gets from students.  Ultimately, she has a huge desire to encourage creativity in people, to help them live better lives that are rewarding. www.teeshamoore.com

'Brave Intuitive You' is a soulful one-day workshop brimming with creative prompts, inspirational new approaches to the creative process and plenty of one-on-one encouragement.  The intention of this workshop is to bravely swing open the doors that keep us from expressing ourselves fully to welcome in pure unbridled spontaneity and a river of creative flow.  Weaving together a variety of painting, drawing and mixed media techniques along with simple movement, meditation, and writing exercises, Flora’s unique and powerful teaching style invites you to make friends with your inner artist (she’s in there already!) while offering you a fresh perspective on your creativity and a deeper connection to your brave and intuitive self.  Each exercise in this workshop is specifically designed to help you loosen up, be bold and allow your art to unfold in ways you can’t even imagine before you begin.   No prior art, dance or yoga experience is necessary for this class.

‘Persisting Soul’ is a one day workshop which will probe the holy thrum of soul in our lives, and spin our deep songs into the light of photography.  Here we will take on the role of ‘flaneur’ or the soulful wanderer, discovering the interesting places and answers that our life gifts us by exploring a series of questions in our photographs, designed to nudge us along the path of soul digging.  We will learn how to breathe some delicious golden verve into our photography, infusing them with poetry, heart, and passion as we head out on a photo safari together. During this workshop several Polaroid Spectra cameras will be available for each student to use to shoot a Polaroid image to start their own photo journal as a keepsake of the day.

'Mapping Me: An Art Journaling Adventure' will fill your journal with your cartographic travels, your personal maps, and your intimate geographies. Trekking through your story, memory, and imagination can be a very rewarding adventure as you depict it in your visual journal with your drawings, images, painting, doodling, words, scraps of paper, and yes, maps! Old maps, worn-out maps, illustrated maps, sepia maps, colorful maps, breathtaking maps of worlds we live in. With the help of prompts and various eye candies we'll explore the joy of mapping ourselves. I have yet to meet an art-journaler who is not fascinated with maps, they do intrigue us. They often make their 'way' into our journals in many lines, textures, shapes and forms. Stephen S. Hall said that maps ultimately testify to our belief in the value of exploration, whether the compass is pointed inward or out. And I believe it can be said about visual journals as well. In our journals we will combine our own map creation processes with a variety of topographical and urban maps created by other cartographers. We'll do all of that to satisfy our undeniable zealous yearnings to live meaningful lives...to fulfill our perpetual longings for expansion, exploration, and self-discovery.

About Orly:  I truly believe that the need to be witnessed by the self and by others is a human-core-need to be fulfilled by the act of creating. Therefore, a compelling part of my journey is the teaching of art making and visual journaling. As a young adult in Israel, I had studied Fine Arts in an artists' village nestled at the foot of Mount Carmel overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, and later, in the Netherlands, Graphic Design at the University of Arts in the contemporary yet history-drenched city of Utrecht. Now living by the beach of Southern California with my family, I take in all the magnificence of the landscapes that shaped me and of the visual languages I have acquired along the way.
